The Eternal Battle Against Aging

Have S*x. If you’re skimping on the lovin’ by trotting out the “I have a headache” excuse, then you’re missing out! People who have s*x at least three times a week within a loving married relationship can look ten years younger than those who make love less frequently, according to Dr. David Weeks of Scotland’s Royal Edinburgh Hospital.

After studying the lifestyles of 3,500 people, Weeks found that a person’s genetic makeup accounted for only 25 percent of their youthful looks—the rest was attributed to behaviour.

Go to church. At last count, nearly 1,000 studies indicated that those who went to church, synagogue or mosque were healthier than their nonattending counterparts—and tended to live longer by seven years, according to one study.
While Jeff Levin, an epidemiologist and author of God, Faith, and Health: Exploring the Spirituality-Healing Connection, contends that some positive health effects extend from the restrictions religious groups may place on smoking, drinking and premarital or extramarital sex, the numbers hold up even when those factors are taken into account.
Levin believes that church provides a social network that supports the aging and ill, and is a source of comfort when you’re down.
